As we age, our body begins to decline, and the stomach is no exception. With age, the production of hydrochloric acid is often diminished, but remains important for the degradation of food in the intestine. The stomach produces hydrochloric acid naturally to maintain its acid content. This is important so that the enzymes (such as pepsin) performed a proper digestion to sterilize food eaten and to allow removal of vitamin B12 from foods that contain. After processes discussed previously, foods are then to the intestine, where still metabolizing to extract their different nutrients. This supplement helps to replace part of the acidity in the stomach, thus cooperating in the digestion of food, and may be useful for those who want to ensure one sufficient amount of hydrochloric acid.
